General information

Who wants to volunteer in Germany? Those people who would like to be active in a social, ecological or diaconal area for a year. Participating in a voluntary service in Germany offers you the opportunity to get to know a new country and a foreign culture, to share the everyday life of the people, to develop intercultural and linguistic competence, to accept new challenges and grow with all of these experiences.

Volunteering enables you to discover your own abilities, to perceive and cross boundaries, to experience fellowship, and to support others with your commitment. You will be accompanied and supported by the pedagogical advisors of the Evangelical Volunteer Services and by instructors.

The Evangelical Volunteer Services support you as an agency if you come from abroad to Germany to do a voluntary year here.

Programs In Germany and the European Union there are different programs for volunteers from abroad. These differ in their objectives and framework conditions. Here you will find a brief overview of the programs we offer:

European Voluntary Service (EFD)

You can apply for the European Voluntary Service if you are between 17 and 30 years old, have a sending organization in your home country and are interested in volunteering in one of our accredited employment centers in Hessen. This way you will experience the European dimension quite personally.

weltwärts Süd-Nord

In the “weltwärts Süd-Nord” program, we work with partners in the Global South, with whom we have a lively exchange of volunteers. We are always interested in working with new international partners. If you are between 18 and 29 years old, actively engaged in civil society and have contact with our partners, you can apply.
