What you receive
European Solidarity Corps (ESC)
If you complete a voluntary service through the European Solidarity Corps, you will receive the following benefits:
- Monthly pocket and meal allowance
- Free accommodation
- Hesse ticket for public local transport
- Travel cost subsidy for entry and exit according to EU flat rates (possibly a small personal contribution)
- Coverage of health, accident, and liability insurance
- Coverage of costs for at least one language course to learn German
- 27 days off (32 days for a 6-day week) for a 12-month activity
- At least 25 education days
- Free accommodation, meals, and reimbursement of travel costs during the education days
- Pedagogical support by an educational coordinator of the Protestant Volunteer Services and a mentor at the deployment site
- Support during the visa process, upon entry, and with initial organizational matters, e.g., administrative procedures, opening a bank account, registration in a language course
- Qualified certificate
weltwärts
If you complete a voluntary service through weltwärts, you will receive the following benefits:
- Monthly pocket and meal allowance
- Free accommodation
- Hesse ticket for public local transport
- Coverage of flight costs for entry and exit
- Coverage of social security contributions (health, pension, long-term care, and unemployment insurance) as well as accident and liability insurance
- Coverage of costs for at least one language course to learn German
- 27 days off (32 days for a 6-day week) for a 12-month activity
- At least 25 education days
- Free accommodation, meals, and reimbursement of travel costs during the education days
- Pedagogical support by an educational coordinator of the Protestant Volunteer Services and a mentor at the deployment site
